If you’re one of the lucky few who owns a 2019 KTM 450 Rally Replica then you’ll need to get in touch with your nearest authorized KTM dealer after a recall was issued on the model to replace the rear fuel tank.
KTM recalls 450 Rally Replica
Explaining the recall KTM states:
Nonconformities occurred in the production process of the rear fuel tank. In the area of the fuel pump flange, there may be minimal fuel leakage at one of the fitting inserts under certain circumstances. Accordingly, the rear fuel tanks need to be replaced on the vehicles affected.
Customers affected are being personally informed but what’s not clear at this stage is what 2019 Dakar Rally competitors with bikes already being shipped to Peru should do – though KTM say if you’re affected then your dealer is your first port of call.
The recall is valid for Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
KTM says customers can also check online in the “Service” area on the KTM website if their motorcycle is affected by the recall.
The replacement of the fuel tank takes about 75 minutes and can be carried out by authorized KTM dealers only. This check is a free-of-charge service for customers performed under warranty.
