Following his serious injury on his leg at some point in training last February, Gomez is now back and will be competing in the Iron Road Prologue that is to be held this coming weekend at Austria. The preparation is to make a decision earlier than Sunday’s Hare Scramble if Gomez is fit and in great shape to participate in the main race. He will complete the line-up of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team for the first time this outdoor season. His teammates will be made up of the two-time Super Enduro champion Colton Haaker , existing WESS championship leader and Extreme Lagares winner, Billy Bolt and three times Erzberg winner Graham Jarvis.
Speaking in advance of the Erzbergrodeo, Rockstar Husky team manager Andi Hölzl said, “It’s nice to have Alfredo back racing with us following his injury. Still not 100%, Alfredo will race the Iron Road Prologue and depending on how he feels, we will decide together whether or not to take the start to Sunday’s Hare Scramble.”
