Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider Billy Bolt will trade sports this weekend for a last-minute entry to one of the world’s toughest off-road sporting events.
Bolt will line-up alongside the likes of multi-time winners Dougie Lampkin and James Dabill to compete the gruelling 70-ish mile lap in the North Yorkshire moors near Richmond, UK.
The event is steeped in history having first run in 1914 and arguably is the origin of enduro as a sport. The time and observation event pitches traditional skills at around 200 riders who must both attempt to set a fast time for the route and try remain feet up through the observed trials sections (which they ride blind). The combined time and observation results make the overall result.
Bolt has a history at the event and has competed previously before switching to enduro. Billy’s Husqvarna team-mate, Graham Jarvis is the nine-time winner of the Scott Trial. Lampkin has four wins to his name and this is very much as physically challenging as the extreme enduro events Bolt is more accustomed.
Good luck to all!
Date of the Scott Trial 2018 – Saturday, 13th October 2018.
