SUPERBIKE CHAMPION BEN SPIES MAKES SWITCH TO ENDURO

The former World, AMA Superbike Champion and MotoGP rider Ben Spies had been hinting his fans and other enduro enthusiasts with his videos and clips of himself riding  KTM 300 EXC for months. Not only that, he also posts images of riding kit, mysterious messages and generally having a game via social media. Apparently, Spies is making a racing comeback, obviously for Enduro.

Spies has announced a comeback to riding on the dirt in the 2018 Kenda AMA National Enduro Championship as well as selected Full Gas National Sprint races. Many anticipated that Spies was preparing for the AMA Superbike, but with all his hints and posts on the social media, it is apparent that he might try something new.

Spies retired from MotoGP in 2013 after a devastating injury to his shoulder left him with, at best, 70% strength. With this, we might be able to see another side of Spies that is most likely we haven’t seen before. He also claims that his current strength is good enough to race two-day events.

The Texan will match the Pro-2 class in the National Enduro series slotting among the Expert-AA and Pro-1 classes. Spies will run his own team KTM 300 EXCs.
