The every year scene in Enduro GP Series are always the same, riders coming all over from the Australia, North and South America to come and compete in the championship series. However, it has been seven long years since we have seen an Asian rider to join the fray of competitors to join in the celebrated championship series. The last one was Kolkeda Takeshi (Japan) in EnduroGP 2010 in Slovakia. The new competing rider from the land of the rising sun is Ogami Tomoki!
Originally from Natori in Japan, Ogami TOMOKI is a great motorcycle enthusiast and has participated several times (from 2010 to 2015) in the Japanese round of the FIM Trial World Championship in the Youth 125cc category.
Also a football player in his country, TOMOKI decided to try the EnduroGP adventure at the forthcoming Italian Grand Prix, which has taken place last 26th to 28th of May. The Japanese hopeful (24 years old) will be riding a Husqvarna 250FE in the Enduro 2 category.
Whilst it is probably going to be difficult for Ogami TOMOKI to fight at the front on his first appearance, his participation proves Japan and Asia’s interest the Maxxis FIM EnduroGP World Championship… if TOMOKI scores big points in Italy we could see more Asians arriving in our Championship!
